It supports tool usage like grep, terminals, and file editor calls while exposing reasoning steps for better control.
Grok Code Fast 1 is available as a free public preview through partners during its limited launch week.
After the trial, the model will remain competitively priced via the xAI API: $0.20 per million input tokens, $1.50 per million output tokens, and just $0.02 for cached inputs.
Under the hood, the model delivers exceptional performance: it processes up to 92 tokens per second.
It supports a 256k token context window, enabling fluid handling of large codebases and quick iterations, ideal for high-volume coding tasks.
