What Is The Difference Between SEO and Paid Ads?
Here’s the difference between SEO and paid advertising:
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is all about optimizing your website pages or content (or even social media content) to rank for certain queries.
So, for instance, let’s say you go to YouTube right now and type in “What is digital marketing?” You’ll see somebody’s video. That person ranked for that specific keyword (or phrase) so that their video is shown to you.
They followed best SEO practices, and they ended up at the top, which is why you’re seeing their content.
So, SEO is all about optimizing to rank higher on search engines.
Paid advertising (paid ads), on the other hand, involves paying an advertising platform to reach your target audience. You can get very specific about targeting your audience, and if you have the budget for it, you can scale your business much faster with paid ads.
But your budget is a big caveat. In paid advertising, the person who can outspend everybody gets the most reach, the most customers, and the most revenue.
That’s the difference between SEO and paid advertising.
